first time two-bike owner scored a 2014 Superduke 1290R ready to ride

I just got my second bike, a 2015 KTM Superduke 1290 R with 5500 miles and the original tires. It's got some minor tip-over damage but has been well taken care of. It has KTM seats, a Remus slip-on exhaust, an alarm, heated grips, and a radiator guard. The oil and fluids have been changed regularly too. I drove 5 hours to pick it up! I'm planning to upgrade the tires and start riding it more. This is my first time having two bikes, so any tips would be appreciated

Hey, that's a great find, but riding on original tires from 2015 is risky, even with low miles. so yeah definitely replace them before you hit the road much

Nice, the 1290 R is a beast, and it sounds like you got a well-equipped one despite the minor tip-over!
Definitely prioritize those new tires.
You'll be amazed at the difference modern rubber makes on a bike like that.
As for having two bikes, the main thing is to make sure both get ridden regularly, even if just for short blasts, to keep everything lubed and the batteries topped up.
A battery tender is your friend here.

Whoa, a Superduke 1290 R for your second bike? You went big!
Definitely get those tires changed immediately. Even if they look okay, 10 YO rubber has zero grip left. For a beast like the Superduke, something sticky like a Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa or a Michelin Power GP would wake that bike up even more
