how to fix the damaged speed sensor

Ugh, what a bummer! My husband and I are on a trip.
We went to the local shop bcs we needed to change the rear tire, and now the rear speed sensor is damaged. It's kissing the sensor ring.

He had no idea until the ABS light stayed on and the Check Engine light popped up after just 2 clicks.

Now, both my TC and ABS lights are stuck on, even with the TC set to 1. The sensor itself looks like it's lost a few millimeters from the contact.
So, is this thing toast, or can it still be saved? Time for a new rear speed sensor, or is there a fix?

Oh, how annoying especially on a trip! but yeah, sounds like it's toast. Usually when they're physically damaged like that, they usually can't be fixed. Time for a new sensor! hope you get it sorted quickly

You could try reseating or adjusting it. but if the lights stay on, a new sensor might be the way to go.

Had something like this happen on a road trip with my old FZ6, shop nicked the front ABS sensor. Tried adjusting it, but once it made contact, it was game over. New sensor fixed it quick

Ouch, that's rough! ABS sensors can fail in no time, once they're broken, you typically have to replace them. It's great to hear that the new one did the trick so quickly
